Fortnite is set to take itself to the next level as it sees a major graphical upgrade in the next update. Players can therefore anticipate a better-looking Fortnite with the upcoming v17.00 patch as it arrives next week. The rollout will coincide with Fortnite’s anticipated entry into Chapter 2 Season 7.
What will be the changes?
Fortnite is about to enter a new phase. But apart from the thematic changes that have become commonplace per major update, a dramatic visual upgrade is in place. The v17.00 update will be specifically adding superficial embellishments to Fortnite.
To take advantage of the game’s fancier look, players will only have to go to the settings and configure the graphics to “Quality Presets”. Choosing this option will enable the system to leverage the running machine’s visual processing capability. Particularly, as seen through “improved Storm and cloud effects, as well as enhanced simulations for smoke and liquid”. Or putting it differently, some “cooler-looking explosion, fire, and Slurp effects”.
Hardware Requirements
For the beautiful images to apply, players must first employ a machine that is up to the task of delivering fantastic imagery. In particular, Epic Games is recommending players to have, at least, a computer with the following specifications:
- Nvidia GTX 960, AMD R9 280, or equivalent DX11 GPU
- 2 GB VRAM
- Core i5-7300U 3.5 GHz
- 8 GB RAM
- Windows 10 64-bit
But for the maximum, “Epic Quality Presets,” the company suggests the following build:
- Nvidia GTX 1080, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or equivalent GPU
- 4 GB VRAM or higher
- Intel Core i7-8700, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, or equivalent
- 16 GB RAM or higher
- NVMe Solid State Drive
- Windows 10 64-bit
It’s a fun time to have an amazing rig and to be able to play Fortnite when the v17.00 update arrives in the coming week.
