Motorola Edge Pre-Orders Live In The U.S.

Motorola Edge Pre Orders Live

You don’t see that many new Motorola Android handsets launching in the company’s former home country any longer. Not after the mobile icon replaced Mountain View leadership with Lenovo, that is. Fortunately, we have a fresh exception to that rule of thumb to admire today – and perhaps even buy it, should it compel us to do so.

The new arrival to the overcrowded U.S. smartphone market is the Motorola Edge, which is an unlocked version of the similarly named Motorola Edge+ (sometimes referred to as the Edge Plus) that we saw Verizon Wireless launch as an exclusive for its customers earlier this year. That original phablet was an extra special release to witness for American smartphone connoisseurs because it was pretty much a legitimate Android flagship.

In other words, it was the kind of device that Motorola hasn’t dared releasing in forever. One look at its $1,000 price tag was a sufficient reminder of why that was that case, to be frank. But the Motorola Edge now presents us with a much more intriguing offer, at half that figure.

Sure, it’s still a Snapdragon 765 smartphone so definitely not the very bleeding edge of the consumer electronics market, but not that far off, either.

Regardless of whether you decide to pick one up or not, let’s keep our collective fingers crossed that this won’t be the last we’re seeing from Motorola in the U.S. for a while.
