Dell Technologies will increase the intensity of its latest pursuit of new software-as-a-service revenue avenues, the company announced this afternoon. A significant part of that effort comes down to the ongoing Project APEX meant to streamline the manner in which on-demand cloud storage is bought, sold, managed, and leveraged, with the main goal unsurprisingly being to raise the industry-wide bar regarding the overall cost-effectiveness formula associated with such SaaS models.
Not bad for a company some said was late to embrace the said business model. Project APEX is a culmination of those efforts in more ways than one as it pairs the best of both cloud storage tech and flexible SaaS pricing previously embraced by Dell. Naturally, the American firm is under no illusions regarding the final deadline for this undertaking. Namely, no such thing exists as the adaptation process will never truly be over, as tends to be the case in every industry, especially one that is as dynamic B2B IT services.
To this effect, Dell is already employing a new client management approach meant to deliver better-fitting storage technologies to all manners of business clients, from mom-and-pop shops to international conglomerates available through a wide range of modular packages with flexible pricing and tailor-made capabilities.
